Everyone needs a plan...
No matter what your income, you and your family should have a personal financial plan. Jim McCabe has the experience, training and creativity to help you form a plan that meets all your unique needs. I suggest you download and view the following PowerPoint files that may help you understand your planning needs.

  • Financial Planning
  • Education Expenses
  • Estate Planning
  • Charitable Gifting
  • Insurance Planning
No matter where you are in life, I've developed a unique, No-Obligation Financial Check-Up and Analysis that will show you in 30 minutes how you can profit from a program tailored to your unique situation.  When you call to leave a message or e-mail, provide your name, address, phone number and best time to call. I know you are busy these days, so do it now, before you forget. I will call you back to schedule a convenient appointment in the next couple weeks.

What do I need for my family?
No matter what your income, assets or station in life, you and your spouse should have the following documents:

    Will
Did you know you cannot die in the state of Arizona without a will, only without YOUR will. If you don't have a will, the state will create one for you. And I know that's not what you want. Click here for a sample.

    Durable Power of Attorney
This document allows you to transfer your authority to another person who can make legal and financial decisions in your behalf if you become no longer able or willing to act for yourself.

    Medical Power of Attorney
Without this document, a court will decide who should make medical decisions for you if you can't make decisions for yourself, such as if you are injured in an accident.

    Living Will
This document designates that no heroic measures or life-sustaining procedures be used to prolong your life if two physicians determine that your condition is terminal and death is imminent.

If you don't have at least a will and durable and medical power of attorney, you must obtain them. I am not a licensed attorney and cannot provide them for you, but I can help you.

If you have already obtained those documents, make sure they're updated regularly -- at least every 5 years for the durable and medical power of attorney.

Every three years, you should verify your estimated Social Security retirement benefits. Recently, the Social Security Administration announced that they will begin sending reports to everyone annually. To request a verification form, contact the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213, If the government makes a mistake in the amount of money you earned in a particular year, you have 3 years, 3 months and 15 days to correct it. After that, the error is irreversible.
